About the role

Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard, maintaining a fast, organised and efficient kitchen during busy service periods. Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards, and work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard

• Maintain a fast, organised and efficient kitchen during busy service periods

• Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards

• Assist with menu development, specials and new dish ideas

• Maintain accurate food preparation and stock levels

• Assist with ordering, stock rotation and minimising food wastage

• Ensure the kitchen is kept clean, organised and compliant with food safety standards

• Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service

• Train and support other kitchen staff where required

• Take responsibility for maintaining a high standard of food quality and kitchen operations

About you

• Previous experience as a chef, preferably in a busy breakfast/brunch café

• Strong knowledge of breakfast and café-style food

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality

• Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team

• Good communication and a positive attitude

• High standards of cleanliness, organisation and food presentation

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen

• Weekend availability is preferred and highly valued

• Availability for shifts generally between 6:30am and 3:30pm
