Service Manager – Cowra & Young

Lead our Service teams across Cowra and Young, strengthen customer relationships and help grow our service capability across both regions.

Kenway & Clark has been supporting agricultural communities for more than 65 years. We are a locally owned agricultural machinery dealership with nine branches across NSW and Southern Queensland, representing Case IH and a range of other leading agricultural machinery brands.

We are looking for an experienced Service Manager to take responsibility for our Service operations across our Cowra and Young branches.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for supporting our Service teams, strengthening customer relationships and continuing to grow our service capability across both regions.

The position can be based at either Cowra or Young, with regular travel between both branches.

About the Role

You’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day performance and development of our Service operations across Cowra and Young.

This role needs someone who is comfortable being involved in the day-to-day operation of the workshops while also spending time with customers, supporting our technicians and apprentices, and identifying opportunities to grow our Service business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting the Service teams across Cowra and Young
• Developing our technicians and apprentices and helping build capability within both workshops
• Building and strengthening relationships with customers across both regions
• Proactively identifying opportunities to grow service activity
• Planning and coordinating workshop and field service work across both locations
• Keeping customers informed and ensuring jobs are followed through from booking to completion and invoicing
• Monitoring workshop productivity, efficiency, job progress and rework
• Ensuring repairs are properly scoped and completed to a high standard
• Maintaining strong workmanship and quality control standards
• Supporting the team with technical, customer and operational issues
• Setting clear expectations and addressing performance issues when required
• Maintaining safe, organised and efficient workshop operations
• Working closely with Parts, Sales and Branch Management at Cowra and Young
• Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working

About You

We’re looking for a practical, hands-on Service leader who understands that strong workshop performance comes from good people, quality work, clear communication and strong customer relationships.

You’ll be comfortable taking ownership of Service operations across two locations and balancing the operational, people and customer sides of the role.

Just as importantly, you’ll enjoy dealing with customers. You’ll be prepared to pick up the phone, get out and visit customers when needed, understand their machinery and service requirements, and make sure they know they can rely on Kenway & Clark for their ongoing support.

Ideally, you will bring:

• Experience managing, supervising or leading a workshop or technical team
• A strong background in agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, diesel or a similar industry
• Strong customer relationship and communication skills
• The ability to identify and develop opportunities to grow Service work
• The ability to develop technicians and apprentices and set clear expectations
• A good understanding of workshop productivity, job costing, invoicing and efficiency
• A strong focus on quality workmanship and reducing rework
• The ability to coordinate work, people and priorities across two locations
• A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
• Strong organisation and follow-through

Experience with Case IH machinery and systems such as Pentana/ERAPower would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
