Dental Assistant: North Road Dental Clinic (Carnegie)

We are looking for a local, reliable, friendly and experienced professional dental assistant with some reception duties, seeking a long-term career opportunity with our family friendly Carnegie practice.

Duties & responsibilities:

The role will begin on a casual basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent schedule as required.

Day-to-day duties will include (but not be limited to): greeting patients and ensuring their comfort, chair-side assisting dentists during procedures and preparation, sterilisation, infection control, stock management, reception duties, including HICAPS payments (mostly relief reception) and other clinic related duties.

Desirable Skills:

• Experienced dental assistant with minimum Certificate III and 2 years of work in Australia experience.
• Students completing their Certificate III in dental assisting looking for workplace hours to complete their qualification are encouraged to apply and will receive paid hours so long as they have the intention to stay on as permanent employees after the Certificate III is completed.
• A thorough understanding of Infection control procedures.
• Superb English Language Skills, presentable and professional
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A compassionate and caring manner.
• Flexibility with working hours/days
• Good computer skills
• Reception experience including using HICAPS and EXACT dental software preferred but not essential (training can be provided to the right candidate)
• Punctual, extremely reliable, efficient, organised and a fast learner
• A good work ethic and commitment to our practice growth and our patient’s well-being.
• A desire to learn and to show initiative
• Friendly attitude, enthusiasm, and ability to work as part of a team are a must.
• Must be a permanent resident or Australian Citizen (Please do not apply if overseas dentist looking to work while studying for exams)
