Experienced Bookkeeper – Xero & Trust Accounting

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Bookkeeper to join our growing professional law firm in Sydney.

This is a hands-on role working closely with the Finance Manager, with responsibility for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the firm’s day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting transactions

• Trust accounting and trust reconciliations

• Bank and account reconciliations

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Supplier invoices, payments and receipts

• Monitor and follow up outstanding receivables

• Maintain and reconcile transactions in Xero

• Payroll assistance

• GST and BAS support

• Month-end and year-end accounting support

• Identify and resolve discrepancies

• Maintain accurate and confidential financial records

• Work closely with the Finance Manager and management

About You

Essential:

• Minimum 5 years’ professional bookkeeping experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Xero

• Excellent knowledge of bank reconciliations

• Strong accounts payable and accounts receivable experience

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Good understanding of GST, BAS and payroll

• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies independently

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Highly desirable:

• Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment

• Trust accounting and trust reconciliation experience

• Experience with legal practice management/accounting systems
