Job Description

This role requires a 4:30 am start

About the Role

As a Transport Allocator, you’ll be at the centre of our daily operations—coordinating drivers, managing delivery schedules, and ensuring customers receive accurate and timely updates. You’ll work closely with the Transport Coordinator and drivers to plan, adjust, and optimise delivery runs throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Allocate daily jobs to drivers and manage run sheets and delivery documentationMonitor driver progress and proactively plan upcoming deliveriesCommunicate with drivers via two-way radio to ensure seamless job transitionsTrack delivery status and ensure customers are kept informed of any delaysMaintain accurate records of container movements, including returns and dehiresManage and update daily operational spreadsheets and reportsEnsure compliance with driver fatigue regulations, legal weight limits, and safety requirementsIdentify and manage any dangerous goods consignments in line with legal standards

Qualifications

About You

3+ years experience in transport, logistics, or Fleet coordination across wharf and container operations.Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environmentConfident communicator, able to liaise with drivers and customers effectivelyDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and complianceComfortable using systems and spreadsheets to manage real-time data
