Think Community Services, Think Mental Health
Reports to: Senior Advisor – Systems and Performance

What we do
Think Mental Health (formerly Think Psychology Solutions) is a private organisation founded in 2011 by two local clinical psychologists, Vanessa Hamilton and Jason McCrae. We deliver both a private mental health clinic (Think Clinic) and a range of community sector mental health services, supported by government funding.
Think Mental Health delivers the territory-wide ACT Medicare Mental Health Phone Service and the Canberra and Tuggeranong Medicare Mental Health Centres. The Centre’s are nation-wide Adult Mental Health service supported by funding from the Capital Health Network (CHN) through the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing.
Position Purpose
The Data Team Member plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient management and quality of organisational data processes and reporting. This position is responsible for producing regular and ad hoc reporting outputs, maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data, and providing clear feedback to address staff errors. The role also involves supporting staff through onboarding, training sessions, and the creation of guides to promote consistency in data handling practices.
Additionally, the position requires active engagement with internal and external stakeholders, including providers, account managers, and other organisational bodies, to support seamless communication and collaboration. This includes resolving technical issues related to data platforms and contributing to initiatives that enhance the usability and efficiency of these systems.
By providing structured support to managers and ensuring the timely completion of reporting and training responsibilities, this position contributes to the organisation's broader operational and strategic goals, maintaining high standards of data quality and compliance.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting Outputs
Minimum Data Set for Mental Health (MDS) (monthly)
Internal performance reporting (monthly)
Key Performance Indicators (6 Monthly) as per funder contractual requirements
Ad Hoc requests as directed by Senior Data Team member
Training and Education of TMH Staff on Data Processes
Onboarding/training new staff on data processes and platforms
Running refresher training sessions
Sharing regular updates on data processes
Creating and updating guides on data processes
Providing feedback to TMH staff to address data quality issues identified
Development and Management of Data Platforms
Working with providers to resolve technical issues
Stakeholder Engagement
Meetings with Fixus Account Manager (monthly).
Ad-hoc meetings with PMHCIS, CHN, and external bodies
Liaison with Managers
Supporting communications
Data Monitoring
Monitoring data input for data quality issues
Proactively identifying data quality improvement areas
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Strong numerical aptitude and confidence working with data, figures and basic calculations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including entering, organising, checking and manipulating data using standard formulas and functions.
Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, errors and missing information.
A methodical, accurate and organised approach to work, including the ability to follow established procedures and maintain reliable records.
Ability to manage routine and repetitive data tasks carefully and consistently.
Ability to work independently within clear direction, seek clarification when required and meet agreed deadlines.
A professional and ethical approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with senior staff and other team members.
Desirable
Previous experience in data entry, data management, analysis or reporting.
Experience using databases, reporting platforms or other data-management software.
Experience or study in mental health, health, community services or a related field.
