About the role
St Mary's Anglican Girls' School is an independent day and boarding school for over 1500 girls from Kindergarten to Year 12. We provide girls with opportunities to pursue personal and academic excellence in a respectful and supportive environment.
We are seeking an inspiring and collaborative Head of Learning Enrichment to lead and shape inclusive learning opportunities and provide educational leadership within the department, across both the Junior School and Senior School and throughout the wider School community.
Our goal for all students participating in Learning Enrichment is to develop skills and confidence in becoming independent, lifelong learners. The priority is to develop self-confidence and assist students to feel connected and successful in the school environment, whilst maintaining high expectations.
The Head of Learning Enrichment is accountable to the Principal, through the Deputy Principal (Studies), for the effective leadership and management of the department. This includes responsibility for curriculum, pedagogy and the professional growth and development of staff.
Working closely with staff, students, and families, the Head of Learning Enrichment provides administrative, advisory, and consultative leadership to support student engagement and experience in learning. The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic and experienced educator with a passion for teaching and learning, together with the ability to provide effective leadership across the following areas:
Teaching and learning
Staffing
Resource management
Pastoral care
Administration
Experience and skills required for this role include:
A comprehensive understanding of current educational issues, particularly the education of girls.
Analysing and using data to inform teaching and learning requirements.
Extensive experience in education, with a focus on learning support and inclusive education.
Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines, including the Disability Discrimination Act, Disability Standards for Education, and other relevant policies.
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire educators towards inclusive practices.
This position incorporates teaching responsibilities and is a fulltime, ongoing role commencing in 2027.
