Retail Manager

Airvoice Group Pty Ltd, trading as Vodafone Charlestown, is seeking an experienced, commercially focused Retail Manager to lead our store at Charlestown Square, NSW.This is a full-time management role responsible for the operational performance, team leadership, customer experience and commercial outcomes of a high-volume telecommunications retail store.

Salary: $78,000–$85,000 per annum plus superannuation, subject to experience

About the roleReporting to the General Manager/National Sales and Operations Manager, you will have primary responsibility for the day-to-day management of Vodafone Charlestown. You will lead the store team, drive sales performance, maintain brand and compliance standards, and ensure customers receive knowledgeable and effective telecommunications solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff coverage, presentation and security.

• Lead, supervise, coach and develop sales staff, including onboarding, training, performance management and regular performance reviews.

• Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage during trading hours, peak periods and promotional campaigns.

• Set, monitor and drive achievement of store sales targets, KPIs, conversion rates, accessory sales, customer retention and service outcomes.

• Analyse store performance data and prepare regular operational and sales reports for senior management.

• Deliver high-quality customer service and personally manage complex customer enquiries, complaints and escalations.

• Ensure the team accurately identifies customer needs and recommends suitable Vodafone mobile, broadband, device, accessory and business solutions.

• Manage stock ordering, receiving, inventory control, stocktakes, stock transfers and loss-prevention procedures.

• Oversee POS operations, cash handling, daily reconciliations, refunds and banking procedures.

• Implement Vodafone product launches, promotions, merchandising plans and visual presentation requirements.

• Ensure compliance with Vodafone dealer policies, privacy requirements, consumer law, telecommunications processes, workplace health and safety obligations and company procedures.

• Build local customer and business relationships to improve store awareness, customer retention and sales opportunities.

• Maintain a positive, accountable and high-performing retail culture.

About you

To be successful, you will have:

• At least two years’ relevant experience in retail management, preferably in telecommunications, consumer electronics, technology or another fast-paced sales environment.

• Demonstrated experience leading, training and managing retail staff.

• Strong experience managing sales targets, KPIs, rosters, stock and daily store operations.

• Sound commercial judgement, problem-solving ability and attention to operational detail.

• Strong customer-service, communication and conflict-resolution skills.

• Confidence using POS systems, sales reporting and inventory systems.

• Ability to work a flexible retail roster, including weekends and late-night trading where required.
