Radio Communications Technician

About the Role

Miles Electronics is seeking a skilled Radio Communications Technician to join our team in Cairns. This role involves working with 2-way radios, satellite phones, and microwave links. Your responsibilities will include programming, repairing, and installing equipment in a variety of settings.

Key aspects of the role include:

• Programming, Repairing, and Installing Equipment: Handle diverse communication systems and ensure their optimal performance.
• Height Work: While not mandatory, a rigging qualification is a plus. Be prepared to work at heights, including on roofs and towers.
• Team Collaboration: Start by working alongside a senior technician with the goal of eventually operating independently or with an assistant.
• Travel: Expect occasional travel within Queensland for on-site work.

About You

We are looking for experienced technicians, but we will also consider junior and senior applicants. The successful candidate will demonstrate:

• Proficiency in radio communications technology.
• Ability to work at heights and handle diverse technical challenges.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Compensation

Remuneration will be aligned with your skills and experience, based on the Queensland public service award.
