Metal Polisher / Sander

Position Summary

We are looking for a Metal Polisher to join our manufacturing team, responsible for grinding, sanding, polishing and detailing aluminium truck bullbars, bumpers and associated products.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who takes pride in producing a high-quality, smooth and professional finish. You will play an important role in ensuring our finished products look their best before leaving the factory and are ready to be fitted to trucks across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Grind and prepare aluminium bullbars and bumpers prior to polishing.

• Sand aluminium surfaces to remove scratches, imperfections and fabrication marks.

• Polish aluminium components to achieve a high-quality, bright and professional finish.

• Detail and finish completed bullbars and bumpers to a high standard.

• Use hand-held grinders, sanders, polishers and other workshop tools safely.

• Inspect finished products for scratches, marks, imperfections and other defects.

• Rework and correct surfaces where required to achieve the required finish.

• Ensure products are cleaned and presented to the required quality standard.

• Work efficiently to meet daily production targets while maintaining quality.

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area.

• Correctly use and care for polishing equipment and tools.

• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in metal polishing, aluminium finishing, automotive detailing or a similar role is highly regarded.

• Experience using grinders, sanders and polishing machines.

• A good eye for detail and a commitment to quality.

• The ability to identify surface imperfections and correct them.

• Good hand skills and the ability to work with tools safely.

• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• A strong work ethic and reliable attitude.

• Experience polishing aluminium to a mirror or show-quality finish would be an advantage.

Physical Requirements

The role involves standing for extended periods and performing repetitive grinding, sanding and polishing work. Applicants must be comfortable handling and maneuvering large truck bullbars and bumpers and be able to safely lift up to 25kg.
