Ballarat Grammar is one of regional Australia’s leading co-educational schools with a proud history dating back to 1877 and a flourishing community of over 1,900 students from 6 months to Year 12, including around 260 boarders.

Ballarat Grammar is seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Music to provide strategic leadership of a thriving whole-school music program. The successful candidate will inspire students and staff through a commitment to musical excellence, innovation and inclusion, while leading a diverse range of ensembles, performances, instrumental programs and community partnerships. This is an exciting opportunity to build on an established tradition of musical achievement and positively influence the lives of students through music.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration (or ability to obtain), including a VIT approved Teaching qualification.
• Demonstrated experience leading a large-scale music, performing arts or co-curricular program.
• Experience coordinating large-scale performances, events, tours and community engagement activities.
• Exceptional leadership capability with the ability to inspire, motivate and develop high-performing teams. 
• Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to translate vision into operational outcomes. 
• Proven capacity to analyse complex issues, identify solutions and make informed decisions.
