WHIRSCQ is seeking an experienced Counsellor (Specialist Mental Health Worker) to join our team. This new role will provide specialist mental health counselling and support that is trauma-informed and culturally responsive to individuals recovering from experiences of domestic, family and sexual violence and other forms of gender-based violence.

Mental health counselling and support encompasses a range of therapeutic, psychosocial, and practical services aimed at promoting the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, particularly women, through assessable, trauma-informed, and gender-specific care.

About You

·         Relevant tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health Social Work, Counselling or a related field, and/or significant relevant experience in delivering specialist counselling responses using trauma-informed approaches.

·         Strong communication, interpersonal and advocacy skills.

·         Current Driver Licence.

·         Current Blue Card (or ability to obtain).

·         Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
