About the role
About the role
The Manager City Safety and Health provides strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio of community safety, public health and regulatory services, ensuring Council meets its statutory obligations while delivering fair, practical and customer-focused outcomes for the community. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the role leads services including Environmental Health, Immunisations, Community Laws, Emergency Management, Prosecutions, Business Support and School Crossing Services, driving innovation, continuous improvement and organisational capability to enhance community wellbeing, strengthen service delivery and support the achievement of the Community and Council Plan.
This is a full time maximum term, Senior Officer position based at Knox Civic Centre. Remuneration will be based on skills and experience, plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
We support flexible working arrangements while ensuring operational needs of the role are met.
What you will bring to this role
The key selection criteria for this role are:
Experience with a strategic leadership and direction to drive organisational outcomes, shape future priorities, and support the delivery of high-quality services across multiple complex and dynamic teams.
Demonstrated experience Leading and inspiring high-performing teams by fostering a positive culture, modelling organisational values, and building capability through strong people leadership and emotional intelligence.
Influence and engage key stakeholders by building trusted relationships, navigating political and community environments, and communicating with confidence and credibility.
Drive innovation and problem-solving through strategic thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to analyse complex issues and develop practical, forward-thinking solutions.
Deliver organisational excellence by leading business improvement initiatives, managing resources effectively, and ensuring strong financial and operational performance.
Represent the organisation with professionalism and integrity, providing expert advice, preparing high-quality reports and presentations, and acting as a respected leader within both professional and community settings.
