Cadia is a major gold and copper mining operation in central New South Wales, about 25 kilometres from the city of Orange and 250 kilometres west of Sydney. The site is known for the Cadia East underground mine - one of the world's largest gold deposits - which uses innovative block caving methods to produce gold doré and gold-rich copper concentrate. Who were looking for:

You will be a committed and dedicated new professional or recent graduate looking to grow in the environmental field. You will be tertiary degree qualified and have some practical field and data recording experience that can be transferred into the role.

A strong commitment to data integrity, a passion for learning and an enjoyment of fieldwork are essential. This role will support the team, with a focus on environmental monitoring.

Other responsibilities include:

• Implementing all environmental and compliance-based considerations (including, but not limited to air quality, noise, water, vibration)
• Perform work in a construction and operational mining environment
• Reporting and acting on maintenance issues related to all monitoring equipment.
• Implementing improvement initiatives, implementation plans and outcomes.
• Promoting adherence to company policies and safe practices.
• Ensuring quality data entry into systems
• Identification and reporting of environmental risks and assists in management and mitigation.
• Data integrity and software program inputs for all monitoring requirements

The ideal candidate will enjoy field-based work, hold a current manual driver's licence, communicate confidently, and be comfortable working in a construction-based environment while building strong relationships and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

You will also bring the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related discipline (essential).
• Current manual driver's licence (essential).
• Experience in environmental monitoring and compliance activities (desirable).
• Exposure to mining operations or other heavy industry environments (desirable).
