About the role
The Investment Analyst is a new role with REI Super.
REI Super is Australia's industry super fund for the real estate industry, with over 24,000 members and over $2.60 billion funds under management.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Analyst requires commercial acumen, interpersonal savvy and empathy, a strong drive to achieve results, must be a self-starter and have a regulator focus.
Accountabilities
The Investment Analyst will be accountable for the following:
Review of weekly and monthly unit pricing performed by Custodian
Preparing investment-related instructions for execution by the fund’s asset Custodian and arranging sign-off by key stakeholders
Timely investment operations and implementation via instructions to custodian; Account opening / KYC, top-up subscriptions, internal asset transfers - for managed funds holding listed and unlisted asset classes
Collection and collation of key fund manager reporting related to fees, valuation, policies and compliance
Data entry of key investment data into established REI Super databases
Examining investment proposals to ensure they are in line with governance requirements
Staying abreast of Investments-related APRA standards (E.g. CPS230, SPS530) and ASIC standards (e.g. RG 97, Portfolio Holdings Disclosure), communicating significant developments to team
Operational Due Diligence (ODD) monitoring of Fund Managers within REI Super portfolios
Investment governance review of Fund regulatory reporting to ensure reporting and pricing practices are aligned
Preparation of Investment-related quarterly and annual APRA reports as well as Portfolio Holding Disclosure
Ensuring REI reports remain aligned to evolving investment governance standards; including investment proposals, annual Business Performance Review and Member Outcomes Assessment
Developing operational, process and governance insights to drive ongoing improvements
Completion of research or rating house surveys and questionnaires
Preparation of monthly investment performance reports compared to investment objectives and other benchmarks
Investment data maintenance and management
Competitor analysis and reporting
Potential incidents, breaches, control failures, valuation concerns, liquidity risks or information-security non-compliance are escalated promptly
Other Responsibilities
Other related duties as required from time to time as requested by the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating & Growth Officer.
Key Selection Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, accounting, business, mathematics, engineering or a related discipline
Experience in superannuation investment operations, custody, fund accounting, unit pricing, investment administration or investment governance.
Familiarity with SPS 530; exposure to CPS 230, ODD and regulatory investment data advantageous.
Experience with custodian instructions, KYC documentation, subscriptions, redemptions or asset transfers.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence comparing data sets; Power Query knowledge advantageous.
Strong attention to detail, control mindset, stakeholder follow-up and ability to manage recurring deadlines
