About the role
I am a young man in my late twenties who lives independently in my own home in Halls Head, with the support of a dedicated team providing 24-hour assistance. My team helps me stay safe, achieve my goals, and remain actively involved in my community.
I enjoy a range of interests, including fitness, fishing, gaming, art, and music. While these activities are important to me, I often find it difficult to engage with them independently. I am looking for a young male support worker who shares some of these interests and can help motivate, encourage, and support me in my daily life.
At times, I can become disconnected and struggle with motivation, making it difficult to participate in activities or complete everyday tasks. I am seeking a positive role model who understands these challenges and can use initiative, creativity, and therapeutic strategies to help me stay engaged and work towards my goals.
One of the highlights of my year is travelling on exciting holidays and adventures. My support team plays a key role in making these experiences possible, so if you have a sense of adventure and enjoy helping others experience new opportunities, this could be the perfect role for you.
A strong collaborative approach is essential. You will work closely with my Service Coordinator and Therapy Team to implement support strategies that enhance my quality of life and independence. Experience or knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is highly desirable; however, a willingness to learn, follow therapeutic recommendations, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team is most important.
