Located in the heart of Sydney's CBD, The Pillars is a private members' club created for Australia's leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs. Across our restaurant, lounge, bar and event spaces, we deliver a highly personalised hospitality experience where exceptional service, attention to detail and genuine connections are at the heart of everything we do.

We're looking for a Section Waiter who's ready to lead from the floor — someone with the polish to run a section with confidence, the judgement to make the calls, and the presence to bring newer team members up to our standard.

THE ROLE

You'll own the standard of service across your section — running it with confidence, supporting and mentoring newer waitstaff, and helping uphold the hospitality, presentation and etiquette standards our members expect.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 2 years' experience in a high-end restaurant, hotel or private members' club setting, including time leading a section

• Confident, high-level food and beverage knowledge, service sequence and etiquette

• Experience mentoring, training or supervising junior floor staff

• A track record of maintaining consistency and standards under pressure, in a luxury environment

• Excellent communication skills, with the presence to lead a section and a room

• An instinct for anticipating what members and guests need before they ask

• Polished presentation and a confident, composed demeanour

• Discretion and member awareness at the highest level

• A collaborative, team-first mindset that flexes with our varied service standards

A NICE-TO-HAVE

Deeper food and wine knowledge is a big plus for this role. If you've got sommelier training, WSET, or simply a real passion for pairing and product, you'll have genuine input into how we present and talk through our F&B offering with members — this is a role where that knowledge gets used, not just listed on a resume.

Above all, you understand that in a private members' environment, discretion, consistency and service aren't just expectations — they're everything, and as a senior team member, you set that tone for others.
