Maintenance Fitter

Greenmountain Food Processing Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team at our large beef-processing facility in Coominya.

This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a trade-qualified fitter who enjoys varied industrial maintenance work across complex production equipment. You will support plant reliability through planned maintenance, breakdown response, fault-finding, repairs, shutdown work and continuous improvement activities.

Reporting primarily to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

• Perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across production and processing equipment

• Maintain conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics and other mechanical systems

• Complete welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs within your competence

• Assist with equipment installation, upgrades and shutdown activities

• Conduct machinery inspections, testing and fault-finding

• Respond to urgent breakdowns and competing operational priorities

• Follow permit-to-work, isolation and lockout/tagout requirements

• Maintain food safety, hygiene and contamination-control standards

• Support continuous improvement and plant reliability initiatives

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams and contractors

• Participate in overtime, weekend work and after-hours breakdown support where required

You will have:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade

• Demonstrated mechanical competence and strong fault-finding ability

• Current Driver’s Licence

• Full Australian working rights

• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team

• Practical welding and fabrication capability

• Reliable, flexible and professional approach

• Capacity to perform physically demanding maintenance work, including lifting, climbing and working in confined or awkward areas

Experience in food processing, meat processing, manufacturing or another high-volume industrial environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Confined-space, working-at-heights and other site-specific competencies are desirable but may be obtained through training.

• $85,000–$95,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience + Super + Overtime
