Maintenance Fitter

Pacific Meat Sales is a family-owned business operating for over 30 years. Specializing in high-quality meat sales to a domestic and export market. Our focus is on Pork, Beef, and Veal, which are supplied through 5 different brands.

Pacific Meat Sales is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our team in the meat industry.

This role is suited to someone who has strong mechanical knowledge, excellent fault-finding skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing a wide range of mechanical equipment used in our meat processing operations. Your role will be vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and minimal downtime of our production lines.

• Carry out preventative and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and equipment

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in a timely manner

• Maintain equipment to meet safety, quality, and operational standards

• Assist with the installation, modification, and improvement of plant and equipment

• Ensure all maintenance work is completed in line with workplace health and safety requirements

• Work closely with production and management teams to minimise downtime

• Maintain accurate maintenance records where required

• Support a clean, safe, and compliant work environment

• Trade qualification as a Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, or similar

• Experience in the meat, food manufacturing, or processing industry preferred

• Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fault-finding skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Commitment to workplace health and safety

• Flexibility to assist with breakdowns and maintenance requirements as needed

• Welding and fabrication experience highly regarded
