About the role
Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (NNTAC) is the Prescribed Body Corporate that holds the native title rights and interests on trust for the Ngadju People. The Ngadju Peoples’ native title rights and interests were recognised by the Federal Court of Australia in 2014 and 2017 (Ngadju Determinations).
About the Role:
NNTAC is currently seeking a GIS Trainee to join our team based in West Perth. Reporting to the GIS Specialist the ideal candidate will be responsible for the following functions.
Responsibilities:
Capture spatial and tabular data.
Create map products for distribution to other staff in the Corporation and for use in reports.
Perform spatial analysis
Documents workflow and standard operating procedures.
Undertake online training.
Attend in person training sessions run by partner organisations.
Any other duties as may be reasonably directed, and which align with the position holders’ skills and experience.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential Criteria
Use of Microsoft Excel.
Use of Microsoft Word.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Keen attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Good organisational, administrative and time management skills.
Willingness to undertake training.
Willingness to work outside office hours on occasions and be prepared to travel.
Desirable Criteria
Previous training or experience in the use of GIS or survey packages.
Previous experience working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander People.
Experienced in non-profit organisations.
