Casual retail customer service person

About the role

The Customer Service Person is responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality customer service while supporting the day-to-day operation of the retail shop. The role exists to ensure customers are served promptly and professionally, and that the shop environment remains organised, well-presented, and functioning effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely, professional, and knowledgeable service to customers in-store and over the phone, ensuring each interaction reflects the standards and values of the business.

• Support the day-to-day running of the shop by completing tasks as directed by the Retail Manager. This includes maintaining workflow, assisting during busy periods, and contributing to an organised and efficient retail environment.

• Assist with the accurate and timely preparation and dispatch of orders, ensuring that work is completed reliably and issues are raised early where they arise.

• Maintain a clean, organised, and well-presented shop environment, and support stock handling activities as required.

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Retail Manager and team. The expectation is that questions are raised early, instructions are acknowledged, and issues are not carried unresolved.

About you

• Basic operational and systems understanding

• Competence with relevant hardware and software

• Clear communication skills

• Strong organisation and attention to detail

• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Previous retail or customer service experience is preferred

• Basic familiarity with administrative systems and technology is preferred
