Head of Tennis (School Sport Program)
Pulteney Grammar School is one of Adelaide's leading independent co-educational schools, offering an exceptional educational experience from Early Learning to Year 12. Located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, we are committed to helping every student discover and develop their passions through outstanding academic, co-curricular and wellbeing programs.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head of Tennis to lead our thriving Years 7–12 Tennis program. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate coach and leader to shape the development of our Tennis program while fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Please note: This role is offered as a fixed-term independent contractor Service Agreement for Term 4, 2026 and Term 1, 2027. Applicants must hold a current Australian Business Number (ABN) and Public Liability Insurance (or be willing to obtain both prior to commencement).
About the Role
As Head of Tennis, you will be responsible for the leadership, coordination and delivery of the School's Tennis program across training, competition and administration. Working closely with students, families, coaches and the Sports Department, you will create an engaging and high-quality experience that supports both participation and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and developing the School's Years 7–12 Tennis program.
Planning and delivering engaging training sessions.
Coordinating weekly fixtures and competition requirements.
Providing coaching, mentoring and support to students.
Leading and supporting casual coaching staff.
Managing program administration and communication.
Promoting a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students participating in the program.
About You
You are an experienced tennis coach with strong leadership skills and a passion for developing young people through sport. You are organised, collaborative and thrive in a school environment.
You will ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience coaching tennis, ideally with secondary-aged students.
Experience leading or coordinating a sporting program.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
The ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.
Availability to work before and/or after-school training sessions and Saturday morning matches during the summer season.
A current Australian Business Number (ABN) or willing to obtain.
Current Public Liability Insurance or willing to obtain.
