The Position
The Learning Area Leader is the lead educational authority within their discipline, responsible for driving excellence in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment and student outcomes across Years 7–12. The role requires strategic leadership, initiative and professional influence, fostering a high-performing team culture where teachers collaborate, innovate and continuously improve practice.
Learning Area Leaders are expected to actively shape their learning area, ensuring alignment with the College vision, Victorian Curriculum 2.0, VCE Study Designs and VCE Vocational Major requirements, and the EREA Touchstone of a Liberating Education.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, highly motivated and innovative leaders with excellent organisational skills and a passion for Catholic Education in the Edmund Rice Tradition and the safety and wellbeing of children.
Specific to the Learning Area Leader - Religious Education:
The Learning Area Leader - Religious Education provides leadership for a team committed to fostering faith formation, academic excellence and the holistic development of students within the Catholic and Edmund Rice traditions. The successful applicant will lead the implementation and ongoing development of the Religious Education curriculum in accordance with the Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) Religious Education Framework and support the effective use of the To Know, Worship and Love resources.
Working collaboratively with the Teaching and Learning Executive, Learning Area staff and College leaders, the Learning Area Leader will promote innovative and engaging pedagogical practices that deepen students' understanding of scripture, Catholic traditions, contemporary social justice issues and the EREA Touchstones of Gospel Spirituality, Inclusive Community, Liberating Education, and Justice and Solidarity.
The role involves leading curriculum development, supporting teacher growth, monitoring student achievement and fostering a culture of collaboration, reflection and continuous improvement. The Learning Area Leader will be a passionate advocate for Religious Education and its vital contribution to the mission and identity of Parade College.

The successful candidate for this position will commence 27 January 2027. The leadership appointment is for a three year term, with an ongoing teaching position associated with this appointment. This position attracts a generous Position of Leadership Allowance and time allowance per cycle.
Candidates will be required to have, and maintain, VIT registration for the duration of their employment.
