Rural Merchandise Sales & Purchasing

Farmcraft, South East Queensland's largest independently owned group of rural merchandise stores, has been operating since 1992.  We employ over 60 staff across 5 branches strategically located across South East Queensland.  

We cater for rural property owners running livestock or growing a huge variety of crops, as well as hobby farmers, home gardeners and pet owners.

We currently have an opening for a sales & purchasing officer to join our team in Lowood.  

The Position:

• Retail sales and enquiries, providing professional service to all customers

• Order processing including point of sale and invoicing

• Stock control including inventory monitoring and stocktakes

• Performing stock transfers in a timely and orderly manner

• Execute and maintain all processes relating to stock integrity

• Receipting of goods

• General duties supporting the branch in the day-to-day operations
  

Our ideal Applicant:

Our ideal applicant would be a motivated team player with a background in retail sales and/or a warehouse environment, with purchasing experience.  

You will ideally have a rural background and/or a basic understanding of farming practises and rural products.

Other skills and experiences:

• Customer service experience

• High attention to detail with ability to prioritise and execute tasks

• Strong communication & effective interpersonal skills

• Inventory/stock control

• Use of a forklift

• Computer literacy skills

• Self-motivated with a can-do attitude

• Ability to lift & carry 20kg stock items

This is a full time position, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, with one rostered Saturday morning per month.

The following qualifications are desirable:

• Forklift ticket (or willingness and ability to obtain one)
