Operations Coordinator

We have an opportunity for an Operations Support Coordinator to join our Welshpool office.

Reporting to - and working closely with - the Head of Operations and wider Operations team, this role will support a broad range of activities to support safe and reliable national operations. 

Duties include coordinating safety activities, continuous improvement initiatives, budget administration, audit and assurance programs, operational reporting, action tracking, procedure development, travel logistics, and administrative support to enable effective business operations.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in an operational environment, bringing structure to day-to-day priorities and supporting leaders and teams with clear, practical and reliable coordination.

Key responsibilities include:  

• Provide coordination and operational support to the Head of Operations and wider Operations team.

• Support safety, quality and workforce audit, assurance and compliance activities, including action tracking, evidence collection and follow-up.

• Support budget coordination, expenditure tracking, reporting and forecasting activities.

• Prepare operational reports, dashboards, meeting materials, correspondence and status updates to support effective decision-making.

• Assist with the development, review and maintenance of procedures, policies, work instructions and document control processes.

• Support training, communication and implementation of operational systems and processes.

• Contribute to operational planning, including the annual Operations calendar and key operational initiatives.

• Lead and support special projects that improve ways of working, strengthen assurance outcomes and support the Operations team to deliver effectively.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:  

The successful candidate will ideally have experience in planning, and exposure to operational environments in heavy industry. They will be highly organised, confident managing competing priorities, and comfortable working with confidential and sensitive information.

Strong Microsoft Office skills, attention to detail, clear communication and a practical approach to problem solving will be important in this role.
