The Opportunity

Peabody is seeking experienced Longwall Operators and Shearer Operators to join our foundation longwall crews at Centurion Mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of one of Australia's newest longwall operations, working with state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to the successful commencement and ongoing performance of Centurion's longwall mining operation.

Your Impact

• Operate longwall and associated mining equipment in accordance with mine plans and site standards.
• Perform longwall production activities including shearer operations, shield movement, face inspections and tailgate operations.
• Conduct pre-start inspections, personal risk assessments and hazard identification activities.
• Support the safe and efficient delivery of production targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety and operational performance.
• Work collaboratively within high-performing production crews.
• Maintain compliance with site procedures, safety requirements and statutory obligations.
• Promote a strong safety culture through proactive risk management and hazard awareness.

About You

You are a safety-focused underground coal miner who takes pride in delivering strong operational performance while contributing positively to team culture and site outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in underground longwall mining operations.
• Demonstrated capability operating longwall equipment including shearers, roof supports, AFCs and BSLs.
• Current longwall operating competencies highly regarded.
• Commitment to maintaining and promoting a safe workplace.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Flexible and proactive approach to work.
• Underground equipment tickets including Bolter, Shuttle Car, Loader or Drift Runner advantageous.
• Commitment to Safety, Integrity, Operational Excellence and Courageous Leadership.
