Concrete Boom Pump & Line Pump Operators Wanted Across Multiple Project Locations NSW | QLD | SA

MCS Civil is a privately owned Australian civil contractor with a strong reputation for delivering specialist civil works across the energy, rail, transport and infrastructure sectors.  

With a growing pipeline of major infrastructure projects across Regional NSW, Brisbane and South Australia, we are seeking experienced Concrete Boom Pump and Line Pump Operators to join our project teams. 

This is an opportunity for Boom Pump Operators and Line Pump Operators to operate quality equipment, work alongside experienced construction teams and contribute to major projects that form part of Australia's essential infrastructure. 

About the Role 

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of concrete boom pumps and/or combined line pumps across major civil and infrastructure projects. 

Working closely with Supervisors, Engineers, concrete crews and site management, you will coordinate concrete placement and ensure pumping operations are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements. 

The roles will suit experienced operators who take pride in their equipment, understand the demands of civil construction, and are comfortable working on rostered DIDO | FIFO projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Safely operate concrete boom pumps and/or combined line pumps 

• Position and set up pumping equipment for concrete placement 

• Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks 

• Work closely with concreting crews, supervisors and other site personnel to coordinate concrete placement. 

• Monitor pump performance and concrete delivery throughout operations 

• Identify and report equipment issues or malfunctions 

• Maintain equipment and safe work areas around the pump in a clean, safe and operational condition 

• Follow all site safety requirements, project specifications and SWMS  

• Provide hands-on support during concrete placement and finishing 

About You 

We are looking for experienced concrete pump operators who are reliable, safety-focused, and take pride in delivering quality work. 

Boom Pump Operator 

• Demonstrated 2+ years experience operating concrete boom pumps in civil projects 

• Current High Risk Work Licence PB (Concrete Placing Boom) 

• MR Drivers Licence required, HR is highly regarded 

• Confident positioning and operating hydraulic booms across varied site conditions  

• Strong understanding of boom setup, concrete placement and pumping pressures  

• Able to conduct pre-starts, identify faults and perform routine equipment checks  

• Civil construction, infrastructure or major project experience highly regarded  

• Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work DIDO | FIFO rosters, including travel and living onsite where applicable 

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity 

Line Pump Operator 

• Demonstrated experience operating concrete line pumps  

• Confident setting up, connecting and managing concrete delivery lines  

• Strong understanding of line pressures, concrete flow and line placement  

• Ability to identify blockages, manage pumping issues and safely clear delivery lines  

• Experience working alongside piling, foundations, concrete or shotcrete crews highly regarded  

• Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to work DIDO | FIFO rosters, including travel and living onsite where applicable 

• Strong commitment to safety, quality and productivity 

Requirements 

• Valid SOA / VOC or Pump Operator competency 

• Current White Card 

• Drivers license with your own vehicle 

• Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening 

• Willingness to work DIDO | FIFO rosters across project locations, including travel + living on site when required 

• Full Australian working rights 

• Working at Heights, EWP or other relevant construction tickets advantageous
