Risk Analyst - Casual

This position is ideal for someone who values flexibility. There are no minimum guaranteed shifts, and work is offered based on operational needs.  

Full training will be provided, including how to use our approved risk frameworks and matrices. You’ll be supported to build confidence in the role, but you must bring strong analytical thinking, excellent organisation, and solid administrative and computer skills (including Microsoft Office and Excel).  

This is not a corporate, cyber, or finance‑based risk role. It is operational and people‑focused. 

Melbourne Immigration Detention Centre, with on-site parking, in Broadmeadows. No remote work available. Casual roster begins after your induction and system access approval.  

• Conduct structured risk assessments using approved frameworks and matrices 

• Support risk decisions across facilities, detainee management, and transport 

• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies, and organisational standards 

• Produce clear, evidence‑based assessments 

• Remain responsive and adaptable in a dynamic operational environment 

• Proven experience in a security risk function (ideally within Immigration, Corrections, or regional processing or resettlement services)

• Cert IV qualification in Immigration, Corrections or Security Risk Assessment (desirable)

• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills

• Excellent organisation and administrative capability 

• Confident computer skills, including MS Office and Excel 

• The ability to balance sensitivity, transparency, and operational priorities 

• A detail‑driven approach with a commitment to quality and compliance 

• Ability to pass required health assessments 

• Eligibility to hold or obtain a Working with Children Check
