If you're a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced food production environment, this is a great opportunity to step into a key role with impact across people, performance, quality and safety.

We are currently looking for a proactive Assistant Production Manager to support our Cakes & Spiral manufacturing operations team in Liverpool, NSW. Reporting to the Production Manager, this is a high-visibility role where you'll support the daily production activities and help shape a culture of team engagement and continuous improvement. You'll play a critical role in ensuring our operation delivers safely, efficiently and consistently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Production Manager in the daily management of Cakes & Spiral manufacturing operations.
• Assist in planning and coordinating bakery production processes to maintain a continuous flow of high-quality products.
• Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions when required.
• Drive a strong safety-first culture while ensuring compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety and quality standards.
• Mentor and develop team members. Conduct performance evaluations and provide recommendations for employee development.
• Support the selection, onboarding, and development of bakery employees. Assist in rostering, scheduling, and payroll activities.
• Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Sanitation, Distribution and other cross-functional teams.
• Act as Production Manager when required.

About You:

To be successful in the role you will have:

• 2+ years' experience in a complex manufacturing environment, ideally within the FMCG/food industry.
• Proven leadership experience managing operational teams.
• Strong people management, conflict resolution, problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of safety, GMP, HACCP and quality systems.
• Experience with labour planning, rostering and performance management.
• Confidence working with production reporting, payroll or workforce management systems.
• Proficient skills in the MS Office suite with intermediate Excel skills.
• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and adapt to various situations in a fast-paced environment.
• Great communications skills, with ability to adjust communication style to wide audiences.
