HSE Advisor

We're looking for a motivated and practical HSE Advisor to join our team and help drive a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement across our operations.

This role is ideal for an experienced HSE professional, but we are also keen to hear from candidates who are early in their HSE career and have a strong trade or operational background within mining, heavy industry, energy, defence, or similar environments. If you've recently gained your HSE qualifications and are passionate about building a career in health, safety, and environment, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting to the HSE Manager, you'll work closely with operational teams to ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible work practices are maintained across site operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting site inspections, audits, observations, and field interactions

• Identifying safety and environmental hazards and implementing corrective actions

• Assisting with incident investigations and risk management activities

• Facilitating risk assessments and reviewing safe work procedures

• Providing practical HSE advice and support to supervisors and operational personnel

• Monitoring compliance with company systems, environmental obligations, and legislative requirements

• Supporting environmental management initiatives and continuous improvement activities

• Coaching and influencing teams to strengthen safety and environmental performance

• Acting as a conduit between site and management to support the development of policies, procedures, and systems

About You

You may already be working as an HSE Advisor, or you may be looking to take the next step into a dedicated HSE role after building strong operational experience in industry.

We're interested in candidates who have:

• A qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field

• Previous HSE experience, or

• Significant trade, operational, supervisory, or frontline experience within:

  • Mining

  • Heavy industry

  • Energy

  • Defence

  • Civil construction

  • Industrial operations

• A strong interest in both safety and environmental management

• Experience or exposure to incident investigations, risk assessments, audits, or compliance activities

• Good communication and relationship-building skills

• A practical, solutions-focused approach to supporting operational teams

Highly Regarded

• Previous HSE Advisor experience

• Strong exposure to environmental compliance, environmental management systems, rehabilitation, sustainability initiatives, or environmental monitoring

• Experience in mining, heavy industry, energy, or defence sectors

• ICAM or similar incident investigation training

• Knowledge of WA safety and environmental legislation

Requirements

• Relevant WHS and/or Environmental qualification

• Current Australian Driver's Licence

• National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening

• Availability to travel to operational sites as required
