Our Venues:
Situated in the heart of Sydney's CBD, the building is made up of two states of the art buildings operating under one roof. Within the operation, The Big Group manages all the hospitality for 8,500 employees and across multiple floors of meeting rooms, large event spaces, café outlets and an event centre that caters up to 1000 people. Our meeting room and client floors offer personalised high-touch service for meetings, executive dining, and formal events. Our event space caters for corporate meetings, dinners, conferences, cocktail parties, awards and gala occasions. We also offer an a la carte service, on our glamorous client floor, with great views of the city landscape and Harbour Bridge, and a Production Kitchen that caters for all operations. All areas are activated during business hours with high volumes, with the event space, ILUMINA extended to operate in the evenings and weekends. Position Overview:
We are looking for Experienced Chefs and Kitchen Hands to support our kitchen in our Sydney CBD corporate location. All venues offer regular weekday and weekend shifts, with flexible rosters both day and night shifts available.

Main Duties:
Chef

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to established recipes and standards.
• Prepare sandwiches according to daily catering requirements under the direction of the head chef. 
• Assist with the function setup and clean up of kitchen areas and equipment. We often set up our own pop up satellite kitchens!
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth kitchen operations and a high level of guest satisfaction.

Kitchen Hand

• General kitchens wash up, eg. dishes, floors, walls, benches, kitchen equipment, etc.
• Deep clean and organise spaces for fridge, freezer and storeroom as per food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain an organised kitchen space, where everything has a place and is easily accessible.
• Bin disposal, cleaning, and maintenance.
• Showing a commitment to our recycling program by separating recyclable, general and food waste.
• Assisting, when required, in other kitchen duties.

Skills & Experience Required:

• If applying for the Chef role, applicants must have minimum 2 years experience in the kitchen as a chef.
• If applying for the Kitchen Hand role, applicants must have minimum 2 years experience working in a high volume environment. 
• Minimum requirement - certificate 3 in commercial cookery or 3 years experience with references.
• Previous experience with fine dining is highly regarded, preferably corporate and event experience.
• Full availability to work day or night including some weekends as part of a rotating roster.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Full working rights.
