We are seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our in-office team in Townsville.

This is an In-office, full time position

About the Role

This is an opportunity to manage your own client portfolio while continuing to develop your technical expertise and advisory capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for SMEs, trusts and partnerships 

• Review junior team members’ work and provide coaching support 

• Liaise directly with clients on accounting and tax queries 

• Assist with tax planning and advisory projects 

• Contribute commercially-minded ideas to improve client outcomes 

• Manage workflow with accountability for quality and timeliness 

• Lead initiatives in Tax, Business Advisory, or Financial Services specialisations

This role suits someone who enjoys both technical excellence and meaningful client relationships.

About You:

Essential Requirements:

• Australian Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 

• 4+ years of Australian public practice accounting experience 

• Solid knowledge of accounting standards and Australian tax legislation 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy 

• Ability to manage workflows independently and mentor junior team members 

• Strong communication and client relationship skills, both written and verbal 

• Experience in Tax, Business Advisory, or Financial Services

Desirable:

• CA/CPA qualifications (completed or currently undertaking) 

• Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
