BAIN CAPITAL CREDIT OVERVIEW

Bain Capital Credit (http://www.baincapitalcredit.com) a leading global credit specialist with approximately $41 billion in assets under management. Bain Capital Credit invests across the credit spectrum and in credit-related strategies, including leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, structured products, private middle market loans, bespoke capital solutions, distressed securities and assets, non-performing loans, hard assets, insurance and equities. Our team of more than 95 investment professionals creates value through rigorous, independent analysis of thousands of corporate issuers around the world.

The Private Credit strategy focuses on providing complete financing solutions to businesses with EBITDA between $10 million and $150 million located in North America, Europe and Australia/New Zealand. We enable Bain Capital Credit to diligence the most complex situations and provide flexible private capital solutions to middle market businesses. We lead or participate in senior, second lien and unitranche loans; subordinated debt; and preferred or common equity coinvestments for traditional leveraged buyout transactions and unsponsored refinancings.

Bain Capital Special Situations has $16 billion in assets under management and has invested $28 billion since its founding in 2002. Bain Capital Special Situations provides bespoke capital solutions to meet the diverse needs of companies, entrepreneurs, and asset owners—partnering for growth and capital structure change, building platforms that address market inefficiencies, and providing liquidity for complex assets. Across all market cycles, our dedicated, global team of approximately 100 investment and portfolio professionals combines credit, equity, corporate and real asset expertise to partner where traditional providers cannot.

Key investments made by both Special Situations and Private Credit include: ATI Global, Virgin Australia, Webjet, GE Commercial, LifeHealthcare, and Scottish Pacific.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW AND QUALIFICATIONS

Our Summer MBA program is an 8-10-week program, through which you will be involved in all elements of our Credit and Special Situations businesses—from building earnings models, performing valuation analysis, to performing industry-level analyses that will inform the investment process and provide critical context. You’ll have the opportunity to learn and adopt our investment process as well and build your professional network. 

Candidates should be on track to complete their MBA by July 2025 and have at least 2-3 years of related experience (including: Investment Banking, Hedge Funds, Private Equity or Venture Capital, Consulting, Family Offices, Corporate Finance). Successful applicants are typically self-starters, have strong analytical and interpersonal skills with sound business judgement.
