About The Role:

We are seeking an experienced candidate for a Deli Manager role at one of our IGA's based South of the river. In this role, you will primarily focus on preparing and presenting freshly made meals daily while ensuring customer satisfaction through excellent service and produce.

The successful candidate will report to the Store Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the department's staff to deliver high-quality service to all customers. They will also be accountable for meeting sales targets by training, motivating, and mentoring staff and working collaboratively with all department managers to improve and grow the store. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to develop a proactive, positive culture in the store in line with Tucker Fresh's vision, mission, and values. This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with no late nights and two consecutive days off each week, including one weekend day, making it an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a stable leadership position with a consistent roster.

• Drive sales by maintaining outstanding merchandising, presentation and availability.

• Promote new products, seasonal ranges and in-store promotions with enthusiasm.

• Ensure the department is clean, safe and fully compliant with food safety and workplace health & safety requirements.

• Manage daily operations including production planning, stock control, ordering, waste reduction and rostering.

• Monitor department performance, identify opportunities for improvement and continually raise operational standards.

Skills & Experience:

 Previous experience managing or supervising within a deli, fresh food, supermarket or hospitality environment.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop a successful team.

• Passion for fresh food, quality products and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

• Sound knowledge of food preparation, food safety and safe food handling practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

• Commercial awareness with experience managing sales, stock, labour and waste.

• Positive attitude, high energy and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.

• Physically capable of working on your feet and lifting moderate to heavy items as required.
