Role Description</strong>
The Forensic Cleaner role is a casual, on-site position based in Melbourne, VIC. In this role, the Forensic Cleaner is responsible for attending trauma, crime scene, unattended death, and biohazard sites to safely clean, disinfect, and restore affected properties to a habitable condition. Day-to-day tasks include following strict safety and decontamination protocols, using specialist cleaning equipment and chemicals, handling and disposing of biohazardous materials in line with regulations, and documenting work performed for reporting and compliance purposes. The role involves working with sensitivity and discretion, interacting professionally with clients who may be experiencing distress, and coordinating with team members and supervisors to ensure timely and thorough completion of jobs. The position may require flexible hours, including evenings, nights, weekends, and participation in an on-call roster to support emergency response needs.
Qualifications Candidates should possess strong operational skills in safe cleaning practices, decontamination procedures, and proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials.Candidates should possess knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE), adherence to infection control standards, and compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.Candidates should possess good physical capability, including the ability to lift, carry, and move equipment, work in protective clothing for extended periods, and perform detailed cleaning tasks in varied environments.Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully with clients, collaborate within a team, and follow written and verbal instructions accurately.Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when working with sensitive situations and information.Relevant experience in cleaning, remediation, facilities, emergency services, or related fields is beneficial; industry-specific training or certifications in biohazard or trauma cleaning are highly regarded.A valid driver’s license, a satisfactory background check, and the ability to work flexiblen
