Rigger/Dogam - Precast Concrete

About the role

Ultracast Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated, hardworking and experienced Rigger/Dogman to join our precast concrete team located in Kurri Kurri, NSW. This is a casual role, with the option of leading to a fulltime position for the right candidate, after completion of a successful probation period. This is a great opportunity for a safety-focused tradesperson with solid rigging and dogging experience to work on interesting precast projects with a supportive crew.

As an experienced Rigger/Dogman, you will play a vital role in the production of high-quality precast concrete products, contributing to the success of our business.

What you'll be doing

You'll be responsible for the safe lifting, slewing and placement of precast concrete panels and components, working closely with our formworkers, concreting team, site supervisors and truck drivers. This is a hands-on role on a live site, so reliability, communication and a strong safety mindset are essential.

You will be required to perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards prior to loading for removal from site.

You are expected to maintain a clean and organised work environment whilst adhering to all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Overhead crane operation

• Rig precast concrete panels, beams and other components for safe lifting and placement

• Conduct pre-lift risk assessments and inspect all rigging equipment before use

• Work closely with other precaset workers to ensure panels are placed accurately and safely and labelled accordingly

• Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work area

• Follow all site WHS procedures and safety standards

• Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding crane operation and site conditions

What we're looking for

1. Previous experience in a rigging or dogging role, preferably in the construction or precast concrete industry

2. Current Dogging licence (DG) – essential

3. Current Rigging licence (basic or intermediate, RB/RI) – essential

4. Current White Card (General Construction Induction)

5. Familiarity with the use of power tools and machinery used in the precast concrete industry

6. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

7. Ability to work effectively as part of a team

8. Good communication skills

9. Australian work rights are required for this position

10. Valid car driver licence and own reliable transport
