About the role
Representing over a hundred commercial artists working across a diverse range of specialised branches and partnerships, we solicit and produce thousands of creative briefs a year, ranging from illustration and activations to animation and special projects, catering primarily to advertising agencies, brands, publishers, and design studios.
We’re looking for a Graphic Designer with a strong eye for social content, visual storytelling and simple content production.
This is primarily a graphic design role, but we’re looking for someone who is also comfortable capturing and creating content. You might spend one day designing a carousel or campaign toolkit, and the next filming behind-the-scenes moments in our studio or editing a short project recap.
You’ll primarily support Jacky Winter, while occasionally contributing to ventures including Solid Lines, Gildlings, Capital Virtues, Jacky Winter Gallery and The Play Group.
We’re looking for someone who cares about the small details that turn straightforward content into something polished and distinctive. You should also understand what makes social content feel engaging, immediate and appropriate for the platform.
If you’re a designer looking for a stable, ongoing freelance partnership within a creative and artist-led environment, we’d love to hear from you.
About the roleThis is an ongoing freelance role that we estimate will require around 25–30 hours per week across 3–4 days. Approximately half of this time will need to be spent onsite at our Collingwood studio.
Most of your time will be spent designing social content, campaign assets, presentations, newsletters and other digital materials. The content-production side of the role will involve capturing authentic moments as they happen, shooting simple photo and video content, and completing straightforward edits for social media.
We already have brand guidelines, planning calendars, recurring content formats and pre-production processes in place. Your role will be to work confidently within this framework, bringing creativity, initiative and excellent visual execution to each creative asset.
What you’ll be doingDesigning static carousels, reels and other content for our social channels.
Designing graphics for newsletters, presentations, websites and other marketing materials.
Working within and evolving existing brand guidelines and templates.
Developing visual concepts in response to more open-ended creative ideas.
Selecting and arranging imagery in ways that showcase our artists and their work effectively.
Capturing simple, lo-fi photo and video content on a phone or camera.
Documenting artist visits, behind-the-scenes moments, office culture, events and project outcomes.
Editing Reels and other short-form video content, including basic titles, captions and motion treatments.
Contributing content ideas and identifying opportunities to capture and share what is happening across the business.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders, presenting concepts and incorporating feedback.
Managing multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining organised working files and asset libraries.
Are a graphic designer first, with a strong portfolio demonstrating excellent typography, layout, composition and attention to detail.
Can confidently work within an established brand system while knowing when and how to extend it.
Are comfortable taking both clearly defined briefs and more open-ended creative direction.
Know how to turn a collection of imagery, information or project material into a clear and engaging visual story.
Have a strong instinct for what makes social content feel relevant, authentic and engaging.
Are comfortable capturing simple photo and video content on a phone or camera and editing short-form video content for social media
Are organised, proactive and comfortable managing several projects at once.
Enjoy collaborating with a creative team while confidently managing your own workflow.
Have an appreciation for art, illustration, animation, design and creative culture.
We’re more interested in the quality and thinking demonstrated in your work than a specific number of years of experience. You may have worked in-house, at an agency or studio, or developed your practice through freelance projects.
What matters most is a strong design eye, good creative instincts and the ability to consistently produce polished work.
