Project Manager

Eneraque is looking for a capable Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex power generation, energy infrastructure and engineered industrial projects from award through to commissioning and handover.

This is a hands-on project delivery role in a growing, privately owned engineering and manufacturing business. It will suit someone who likes being close to the detail, working with practical people, solving problems early, and taking real ownership of project outcomes.

You will not be delivering projects in isolation. You’ll work closely with our internal engineering, drafting, procurement, fabrication, site, commissioning and service teams to deliver critical energy solutions for clients across Australia.

As Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering projects safely, commercially and professionally.

You’ll manage the programme, budget, procurement priorities, subcontractors, client communication, project risks, variations, quality requirements and handover process.

The work is varied and technical. Depending on the project, you may be involved in power generation packages, fuel systems, switchrooms, enclosures, distribution integration, hybrid energy systems, BESS, renewable gas or biogas-related infrastructure, and long-term service integration.

This role is best suited to someone who enjoys accountability but also knows how to keep projects calm, structured and moving.

• Manage project delivery from award through to handover

• Build and maintain project schedules, procurement plans, cost tracking and delivery reports

• Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, site works, commissioning, suppliers and subcontractors

• Keep clients and internal stakeholders informed with clear, practical communication

• Identify risks early and drive sensible solutions before they become bigger problems

• Manage variations, subcontractor performance, claims, cost-to-complete and commercial outcomes

• Maintain strong HSE, quality and documentation standards

• Lead project closeout, including defects, handover packs, documentation and lessons learned

• Help improve the way we deliver repeatable, high-quality projects

You do not need to come from power generation specifically, but you do need to have delivered technical or complex projects where planning, communication, commercial control and follow-through mattered.

You’ll likely bring:

• 5+ years’ experience managing projects in industrial, construction, infrastructure, engineering, manufacturing, utilities, mining, resources, energy or similar environments

• Strong project planning, scheduling and cost-control capability

• Confidence managing clients, suppliers, contractors and internal technical teams

• Commercial awareness, including variations, claims, subcontractor performance and cost-to-complete tracking

• A practical, organised and calm approach to problem solving

• Strong written and verbal communication

• A genuine commitment to safety, quality and doing the job properly

Experience in power generation, fuel systems, switchrooms, BESS, gas, utilities, critical infrastructure or Tier 1 project environments would be highly regarded.

Formal qualifications in engineering, construction management, project management, PMP, PRINCE2 or AIPM are useful, but demonstrated delivery experience matters most.

In your first 90 days, you’ll have built trust with the team by bringing structure, visibility and follow-through to your projects.

You’ll be across the programme, risks, commercial position, procurement priorities and key client expectations. You’ll communicate clearly, escalate early, and help the team avoid surprises.

It will not suit someone who wants to sit above the detail or only manage projects from a spreadsheet. We need someone who can plan, communicate, follow up, challenge assumptions, work with technical people, and keep clients confident when projects get difficult.
