Project Manager - Fixed Plant Operations

Camco Engineering is a mechanical engineering company located in Perth, Western Australia, providing a range of manufacturing & maintenance services to the mining, power generation, oil and gas sectors. 

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an energetic and capable individual with a strong background in Fixed Plant Operations, ideally with Mechanical Fitting or Machining experience. This role requires someone with excellent internal and external communication skills and a proactive, detail-oriented mindset.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review job quotations

• Order materials and components as required

• Initiate production documentation and sign off on completed work

• Manage and document non-conformances, including corrective and preventive actions

• Forecast workload and resource requirements

• Maintain quality assurance and compliance with company processes and industry standards

• Support risk management activities across all stages of the project lifecycle

The successful candidate will ideally possess, or demonstrate the ability to learn, the following:

• Ability to review tender documentation from both a technical and commercial perspective

• Proven experience in contract negotiation

• Trade qualified as a Mechanical Fitter or Machinist

• Strong teamwork and leadership abilities

• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills

• Understanding of QA systems, contract documentation, mechanical drawings, and material take-offs

• Strong knowledge of the local industry

• Clear and professional communication skills

• Strong commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance (QA)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Qualifications

• Project Management experience within the mining or manufacturing sector is highly desirable

• Post-Trade experience as a Machinist or Fitter – Mandatory
