Kennel Assistant / Administration

Yarrambat Kennels & Cattery is seeking a dedicated, experienced, and physically capable individual to join our team as a Casual Administration / Animal Assistant. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role combining animal care with front-of-house responsibilities, ideal for someone passionate about animals and confident in client-facing and administrative tasks. This position will continue to expand/develop over time, with more focus on administration, client interactions and operational support.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This dynamic position involves both back-of-house animal care and administrative/front office duties. The successful applicant will be flexible, dependable, and proactive – someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys variety in their work, and is eager to grow with the role as our business evolves.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in a kennel, shelter, vet clinic (non-negotiable).

• Full Australian working rights.

• Current, valid driver's licence.

• Confident with computers and learning new systems.

• Physically fit and able to perform manual, on-your-feet tasks in a high-energy environment.

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

• Administrative or customer service background.

• Availability to work weekends, public holidays, school holidays, Easter, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

Preferred:

• Experience using booking software (Gingr or similar).

• Calm, confident, and professional communication skills.
