High Voltage Substations Estimator

About the role

We are seeking an experienced High Voltage Estimator to join our team, based in Smithfield, NSW. The successful applicant will have extensive experience estimating electrical infrastructure projects, with a strong background in 132kV–500kV high-voltage substations. This role will also involve business development, client relationship management and supporting the preparation and submission of tenders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for high-voltage substation projects.

• Review project plans, specifications, scopes of work and tender documentation.

• Develop detailed quantity take-offs, cost estimates and pricing schedules.

• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and project stakeholders.

• Conduct occasional site visits as required.

• Support business development activities and help identify new project opportunities.

• Attend client meetings and maintain strong professional relationships.

• Prepare and submit tenders through platforms such as Felix and other relevant tendering systems.

• Assist with project planning, scheduling and commercial assessments.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting using Microsoft Office applications.

About you

• A minimum of 5 years' experience estimating 132kV–500kV high-voltage substation projects.

• Strong knowledge of electrical construction, high-voltage infrastructure and substation projects.

• Experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Experience using tender platforms, including Felix and similar systems.

• Strong client communication and relationship-management skills.

• Experience contributing to business development and tendering activities.

• Excellent attention to detail and commercial awareness.

• A current driver's licence and the ability to travel occasionally for site visits.
