The Bike Place is looking for an experienced Bicycle Mechanic to join our Port Kennedy team. You’ll work in a fully equipped workshop servicing, repairing and building bikes across Trek and other leading brands. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone who can work confidently in a busy retail environment and take pride in getting every job right.

What you’ll do

• Service, diagnose and repair bicycles to a consistently high standard

• Assemble and prepare new bikes accurately and efficiently

• Explain repairs and recommendations clearly to customers

• Help keep workshop jobs organised and moving in a fast-paced environment

• Assist with bicycle pick-up and delivery when required

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience working as a bicycle mechanic — you must be ready to contribute from day one

• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and pride in your workmanship

• A genuine interest in bikes and cycling, with the ability to relate to customers and teammates

• Confident, friendly communication skills — this is not a workshop-only role

• A full, current driver’s licence

• Reliability, initiative and the ability to work well as part of a team

Hours and opportunity

Up to 38 hours per week, with a full-time role available for the right candidate. Remuneration will reflect your experience and capability.
