Office Administrator & Receptionist

Run the office of an established Brisbane powder coating business

P&J Powder Coatings has been powder coating and pre-treating aluminium and steel for Queensland fabricators, builders and trade customers from our Tingalpa plant for 40 years.

We're looking for one capable person to run the office end to end: reception, customer administration, accounts and payroll. You'll report directly to the Managing Director, and you'll own how the back office works rather than following someone else's system.

What you'll do

• Front-of-house reception: phone and counter enquiries from customers

• Customer administration: order and job paperwork, following enquiries through to resolution

• Accounts receivable, including following up overdue accounts

• Accounts payable

• Weekly payroll in Xero including STP and payday super plus the HR admin that goes with it

• Bank reconciliations

What you'll need

• Experience running a sole-charge or senior administration and accounts role. You've owned AR, AP and reconciliations yourself, not just assisted

• Hands-on payroll experience, superannuation and STP

• Xero, which is essential for this role

• Genuinely strong customer service: warm on the phone and at the counter

• Clear, professional written and verbal communication with customers, suppliers and staff

• The discretion to handle confidential payroll and financial information

• Someone who can self-manage a varied workload and keep things moving with limited supervision

What we offer

• $70,000 – $80,000 + 12% superannuation

• Work hours: 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 7:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday. No weekends, no shift work

• Direct line to the owner and Production Manager and real influence over how the office runs
