About the role

Willing Coffee is looking for baristas who care about coffee at a slightly unreasonable level. A proudly independent Perth coffee company with venues in Mount Lawley and Guildford, we care deeply about the details - from dial-in and extraction to milk texture, workflow, and how the final cup reaches the guest. Coffee matters here, but so does hospitality. We want baristas who can make an excellent coffee while still being warm, engaged and genuinely happy to look after people.

Key responsibilities

• Dialing in and maintaining espresso recipes throughout service

• Producing consistently excellent espresso and milk-based coffee

• Preparing batch brew, pour-over and other filter offerings

• Managing workflow during busy services

• Keeping the coffee section clean, organised and properly maintained

• Talking confidently with guests about coffee without delivering a TED Talk

• Supporting the floor and contributing to the whole venue, not disappearing behind the machine

About you

• Has solid specialty coffee experience

• Understands extraction, recipes and how to troubleshoot a coffee that isn't behaving

• Cares about milk texture, temperature and presentation

• Can stay calm and consistent when the docket rail fills up

• Works cleanly and respects good systems

• Is curious, open to feedback and always interested in improving

• Understands that great coffee and great hospitality should exist together

• Is reliable, positive and good to have around at 6:00 in the morning
