Accreditation Specialist - Medical Testing
The National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia (NATA) is Australia's national accreditation body. We provide independent assurance of the technical competence and integrity of organisations for clients who require confidence in the delivery of their products and services.
We are seeking to appoint two full-time Accreditation Specialists in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office. You will initially be trained in the assessment of laboratories within our Human Pathology sector, with the future expectation of being upskilled in other technical areas. Working alongside industry experts, you'll help uphold national technical standards while expanding your expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About the roleOrganise, lead and conduct assessments of laboratories against criteria based on ISO 15189 and NPAAC (National Pathology Accreditation Advisory Council) requirementsConduct assessments at client facilities with the support of technical expertsPrepare assessment reports and manage follow-up actionsManage relationships with existing and prospective members and stakeholdersRespond to client enquiries and provide advice on accreditation requirementsDevelop a strong understanding of accreditation criteriaProvide advice to technical experts, clients and the public on NATA's policies and technical requirementsIntrastate and interstate travel is required
Skills and experienceTertiary qualification in a Science or Applied Science, with relevant post graduate professional experienceExperience in medical laboratory testing or related areaUnderstanding of management system principles and quality assurance activities (support will be provided to apply this practically)Proven ability to effectively plan, prioritise and deliver on multiple activities within set timeframesDemonstrated experience building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholdersStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelyIntermediate skills in software applications and databases, with a willingness to learn new systemsOpenness to expanding technical capability to meet evolving business needsPrevious auditing experience would be highly desirable, although training will be provided.

NATA's work increases community confidence and trust in the services offered by accredited facilities, mitigates risk, improves tendering success, and facilitates trade.
