Location: West End (with travel across metro, regional and remote areas)

• Part-time-time: 3 days / 22.5 hours per week

• Office-based role.

Due to the nature of this role, flexibility with working hours is required. Community Development may occasionally take place outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends.

About the Role

Reporting to the Community Development and Engagement Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and delivering community development projects, fostering stakeholder relationships, engaging diverse communities, and ensuring high-quality project administration and reporting.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines project delivery, community engagement, stakeholder liaison, event coordination, data management, and administration.

Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, you will help deliver initiatives that address barriers experienced by multicultural community organisations and contribute to ECCQ's broader advocacy and community development objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and delivery of funded community development projects.

• Coordinate project activities to ensure deliverables and timelines are achieved.

• Organise meetings, forums, workshops, and community engagement activities.

• Manage logistics including venues, registrations, catering, and technology requirements.

• Develop and maintain positive relationships with multicultural communities, community leaders, government agencies, service providers, educational institutions, and other stakeholders.

• Facilitate effective communication between communities and external stakeholders.

• Collect, maintain, and analyse project data and community engagement information.

• Prepare reports, project documentation, and stakeholder communications.

• Maintain accurate and confidential project records.

• Work collaboratively across ECCQ programs to maximise community outcomes.

• Contribute to a culturally safe, inclusive, and respectful workplace.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications in Community Services, Social Sciences, Social Work, Community Development, Human Services, or a related discipline.

• Experience working within the multicultural community sector, community development, social services, or not-for-profit environments.

• Understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities in Queensland.

• Experience supporting or coordinating community projects and initiatives.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including cross-cultural communication.

• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Experience coordinating events, meetings, workshops, or community activities.

• Strong data management, reporting, and administrative skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration tools.

• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.

Desirable

• Experience working with community leaders, volunteer-based organisations, or multicultural associations.

• Experience using event registration, booking, or CRM systems.

• Knowledge of government-funded community programs and reporting requirements.
