Based at our St Lucia campus.
Join a collaborative and purpose-driven team supporting one of Australia’s leading universities. As Contract Auditor, you will play a critical role in strengthening governance, compliance, and contractor performance assurance across UQ’s diverse infrastructure and service contracts. Working within Campus Operations, you will contribute to a systematic auditing function that supports operational excellence, transparency, value for money, and continuous improvement across a complex contractor portfolio. This is a field-based role where you will work closely with contractors, service delivery teams, and asset management professionals to help create meaningful change across UQ’s campuses.
Key responsibilities will include:
Audit contractor performance across infrastructure services including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, civil, and transportation contracts.
Audit contractor performance across soft services including cleaning, pest management, and waste services to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and service specifications.
Review contractor invoices, assess compliance against agreed contract rates, and identify value-for-money opportunities.
Develop audit reports, communicate findings, monitor non-conformances, and contribute to ongoing contractor performance improvement initiatives.
Completion of a building-related degree with subsequent relevant experience, extensive specialist expertise in a related field, or an equivalent combination of trade experience and education.
Demonstrated understanding of contract management principles, contractor auditing frameworks, and compliance assurance practices.
Sound knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or plumbing services within large and complex facilities, including technical, scientific, or laboratory environments.
Experience reviewing contractor performance, undertaking audits, and contributing to contract management and negotiation activities.
Strong analytical capability with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and completeness.
Proven proficiency using a broad range of systems and software, including facilities management and data management applications.
Excellent organisation, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively while exercising initiative, sound judgement, and autonomy in a complex operational environment.
As part of the UQ community, you’ll have the opportunity to work alongside the brightest minds, who have joined us from all over the world, working together to create a better world. Join a community where excellence is at the core of our culture, contributions are valued and a range of benefits and rewards are available.
Enjoy up to 26 weeks paid parental and primary care leave, 17% super, 17.5% leave loading, flexible and hybrid working options, health and wellbeing programs, a heavily discounted Study for Staff program, on-campus childcare, affordable parking, and salary packaging.
At UQ, we are creating change together.
