About the role
Hader Institute of Education is seeking experienced Online Trainers/Assessors specialising in Alcohol and Other Drugs to join our vocational education team. This fully remote, part time position offers the flexibility to deliver high-quality training and assessment services in the alcohol and other drugs sector through our online learning platform.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, delivering, and assessing vocational training programmes to learners pursuing qualifications in alcohol and other drugs education and support. You will play a crucial role in preparing skilled professionals for this vital sector, combining your subject matter expertise with engaging online delivery methods to ensure learners achieve the competencies required for their careers.
What you'll be doing
Designing and developing engaging online training content and resources aligned with vocational curriculum standards for alcohol and other drugs qualifications
Delivering interactive online training sessions to cohorts of learners, utilising a variety of digital tools and pedagogical approaches
Assessing learner competency through a range of assessment methods, including assignments, practical tasks, and examinations, ensuring consistency and fairness
Providing constructive feedback to learners to support their development and progression through their qualification
Maintaining accurate and detailed records of learner performance, attendance, and assessment outcomes
Collaborating with other trainers and assessors to ensure consistency in delivery and assessment practices across the Institute
Supporting learners with guidance and pastoral care to enhance their learning experience and outcomes
Staying current with industry developments, legislative changes, and best practice in alcohol and other drugs education and online delivery
Participating in professional development and training to enhance teaching and assessment skills
What we're looking for
Recognised vocational qualification or tertiary qualification in alcohol and other drugs education, counselling, public health, or a related field
Formal training and assessment credentials, such as Diploma of Training Design and Delivery (or equivalent) or willingness to undertake this qualification
Demonstrated experience working in the alcohol and other drugs sector, including direct client support, education, or harm reduction work
Strong knowledge of current issues, evidence-based practices, and policy frameworks in alcohol and other drugs education and treatment
Proven experience delivering vocational training, ideally in an online or blended learning environment
Experience in designing and developing training materials and resources that engage diverse learner cohorts
Competence in assessing learner competency against defined criteria and standards
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt communication to different audiences
Proficiency with learning management systems and online delivery platforms
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in record-keeping and documentation
Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development in vocational education
Desirable: Experience with Certificate III or IV level qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs or related disability support qualifications
