About the role
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and highly adaptable Educator to support our 8-year-old daughter in her personalised homeschooling journey.
This role is ideally suited to an educator who understands that learning happens best through connection, curiosity, and meaningful experiences. Our daughter has specialised learning needs, and a strong understanding of Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) is essential. About the RoleThe successful candidate will provide foundational learning in English and Mathematics through experiential, play-based, and interest-led approaches. Rather than delivering traditional classroom-style instruction, the educator will create engaging learning opportunities that foster confidence, curiosity, and a positive relationship with learning. Incorporation and crossover with other Australian Curriculum subjects desirable, to provide multi-faceted learning.
The role includes direct teaching sessions, lesson planning, and maintaining documentation to support homeschooling requirements.

· Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning principles.
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
· Ability to work independently and think creatively.
Preferred Qualifications· Teaching qualification, education degree, or equivalent experience.
· Experience in homeschooling, alternative education, special education, or therapeutic educational settings.
· Current Working With Children Check.

· Driver’s License
Position Details· Child: 8-year-old homeschooled student.
· Location: Stirling, Adelaide Hills, SA
· Contact Time: minimum 6 hours per week, delivered across two or three sessions.
· Additional Time: 1.5 paid hours per week for lesson planning, documentation, and homeschool record-keeping.
· Total Paid Hours: 7.5 hours per week, rate negotiable based on experience.
· Resourcing provision
· Engagement Type: Independent Contractor
This role is offered on a contractor basis, must have own ABN. The successful applicant will be responsible for invoicing of hours worked and managing their own professional obligations and insurances associated with self-employment.
This position would suit an educator who values relationship-based learning, embraces flexibility, and enjoys thinking outside traditional educational frameworks. We are seeking someone who can recognise and nurture a child’s strengths while creating learning experiences that are engaging, meaningful, and responsive to her individual needs.
