We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Therapeutic Counsellor to support individuals, families and others affected by gambling-related harm.

About The Role
As a Therapeutic Counsellor in our Gamblers Help program, you’ll provide evidence-informed counselling and therapeutic support that helps clients stabilise or reduce gambling behaviours, strengthen their wellbeing and achieve lasting positive change.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Providing assessment, counselling and case management for individuals, couples, families and others affected by gambling-related harm Conducting comprehensive initial client assessments Developing treatment plans and delivering client-centred, recovery-focused interventions Maintaining accurate client records, case notes, reports and correspondence Providing information, referrals and follow-up support Working collaboratively with counsellors, financial counsellors and other service providers Participating in individual and group clinical supervision Contributing to service improvement and program development
About You
You’ll be an experienced counsellor or psychologist who can build trusted relationships and provide sensitive, effective support to people experiencing complex challenges.
To Be Successful, You’ll Bring
A qualification in psychology or counselling Current professional registration with AASW, ACA, PACFA or AHPRA Knowledge and experience in the therapeutic treatment of addictive behaviours, mental health concerns and gambling-related harm Experience providing community-based counselling to individuals, couples and families experiencing multiple or complex issues Strong clinical assessment and case management skills The ability to develop referral pathways and work effectively with other services Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Location
This role is based at Bentleigh East with travel required across community settings and other BHN locations, such as Frankston and Dandenong, as needed.
